Wie unterscheidet sich Deine Arbeit von anderen aus der gleichen “Branche”? Vielleicht in der Gnadenlosigkeit, mit der ich alte historische und wunderschöne Bücher zerstöre? Ähm, nein, ich fürchte gar nicht, es gibt so viele tolle Collagen und Papierkünstlerinnen und Mail art!.
How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Is it the ruthlessness with which I tend to destroy the most beautiful and historical valuable books? – Ah, no, I honestly don’t know, there are so many fantastic collagists and mail artists and blogs out there!!
Warum machst Du, was Du tust? Ich bin dazu über die IUOMA (International Union of Mail Artists) gekommen. Eines Tages habe ich darüber gelesen, und wusste, das ist es. Und warum: Weil’s glücklich macht, kreativ zu sein, anderen irgendwo weit weg auf der Welt eine Freude zu machen, zu wissen, darüber lacht der- oder diejenige, weil man aus Papier die dollsten Sachen machen kann, weil es mich selbst überrascht, weil ich Collagen liebe …
Why do I write/create what I do? A few years ago I discovered mail art and the IUOMA (International Union of Mail Artists) – and I immediately knew: that’s it, that’s my thing! So, why? Because it makes me happy to be creative, to make somebody’s day on the other side of the world, to know that someone will laugh about the stuff you just made, because you can do the craziest stuff with paper, because it surprises myself, because I do love collages …
Wie verläuft Dein kreativer Prozess? Puuh, ich sitze in meinem Zimmerchen unterm Dach und blättere und sortiere Papier und schneide und klebe und dann fällt mir ein, dass das, was ich gerade in der Hand habe, doch zu dem passt, was ich vorhin weggekramt habe, und wo habe ich das noch mal hingetan. Es macht einfach Klick und man muss selber lachen – das pure Collagenglück…
How does your writing/creating process work? Duh, I’m sitting in my little room under the roof, sorting through papers, cutting, glueing, and than I think, this one goes well with that one, but, uhhh, where have I put that one ?! When a weird combination is really clicking and you have to laugh – pure collage happiness …
